I am a very proud Mum of four, two daughters & two sons, born 2000, 2004, 2005 & 2015.
My career history has been varied, starting with being a nanny, then after having my own children becoming a childminder. Over the last ten years, my husband & I have owned a village store & post office. We now have a village store on the Suffolk/Norfolk border.
Having four children, there has been many challenges & I have seen how having a wider support network can greatly improve all aspects of family life. This is why I want to support women & families through this wonderful time.
As a birth doula I am there to offer emotional & physical support as well as information on a personal level. Respect, kind words, a hand to hold & hopefully some laughter along the way. Whilst there are some situations that need serious care, patients & calmness, I certainly don’t take myself too seriously.
My aim is to support couples to feel empowered & confident, even if birth takes a different path to the “plan”. There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way of giving birth & we all deserve to be left with positive & happy memories of the day we meet our babies.
As a postnatal doula I want to provide practical, gentle care to families with newborns. Support around the home, with breast & bottle-feeding in a non-judgmental way.
I want to support your choices helping you
to feel safe, comfortable & confident.
I am a currently a mentored doula
after completing my BirthBliss Doula course.
As a mentored doula, I have access to a Doula UK mentor for support & advice. I will debrief with them after each attended birth or postnatal work.
If you have any questions I would be very happy to have a chat, over the phone or arrange a visit in person.
I look forward to hearing from you!
